OCA appoints Subrat Behera as Chief Executive Officer

Former first-class cricketer-turned coach Subrat Kumar Behera has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA). This was announced by OCA secretary Sanjay Behera today.

According to OCA secretary, the apex cricket body of the state started the appointment process by releasing an advertisement in Time of India news paper and its own website on 27 November 2019.

The selection process and interview for the post was conducted by Price Waterhouse &
Coopers (PWC). After scrutinizing applications, PWC shortlisted several candidates for the interview, which was conducted on 8 and 9 February 2020. Among the shortlisted candidates, Subrat Kumar Behera, an MBA, was finally chosen for as the CEO.

During his playing career, Behera represented Odisha State U-19, U-22, U-25 and Senior Teams. He played 12 first class, four List-A and 21 miscellaneous matches in his five-year-long career, spanning from 2000 to 2005.

A right-hand batsman and leg-break bowler, Behera scored a total of 479 runs, including four fifties in his 12 first-class games. In four List-A, Behera scored 98 runs, including one half-century.

Also a Level-1 coach, Behera is a native of Gatirout Patana in Cuttack city. He earlier worked with RSB Company as a manager for several years.
